1. Start-up Avedøre Green City

Avedøre Green City (AGC) is a project that aims to develop Avedøre into a sustainable and green district, based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. One of the major projects is the renovation of pipelines and internal heating installations in Avedøre Boligselskab. In addition, the pipeline network in Avedøre District Heating is to be renovated, and the district heating network is to be extended towards Avedøre Landsby. All of this with brand new heating technologies and with a view to keeping the district heating consumers’ heating bill as low as possible. The investments total over DKK 200 million.

The project runs from 2021 to the end of 2023.

2. Export of district heating know-how to the Netherlands

In the end of 2020 we received a grant from the Danish Energy Authority to a project where we will export our district heating know-how to our Dutch collaborators Energie Samen and Klimaatverbond Nederland. The project will contribute to the expansion of district heating cooperatives in the Netherlands.

During the project we will write a feasibility analysis of the Danish and Dutch district heating market, where we will describe similarities, differences, possibilities and challenges.

The project runs from 2021 to the end of 2022.

3. The expansion of district heating through island projects

The expansion of district heating in Hvidovre has been paused for a number of years, because the project proposals haven’t resulted in socio-economic surplus. Together with the district heating cooperatives in Hvidovre, we have worked to find a solution in order to continue the expansion of district heating. In the end of 2020 the municipal council in Hvidovre has endorsed a new project proposal in Northern Hvidovre, based on a local heat plant. Therefore, we can look forward to expand district heating on behalf of the district heating cooperatives in 2021. The project proposal opens the way for the expansion of district heating to whole Hvidovre.

4. District heating campaign

The district heating cooperatives have decided to make it easier for heating consumers in district heating areas to convert from oil or natural gas into district heating. It is accomplished with the package deal, where we take care of everything on the travel from oil or natural gas into district heating. It means that we in the beginning of 2021 will run a campaign about the district heating package deal.
